History

LLC RN-Purneftegaz, a subsidiary of Rosneft, develops oil and gas fields in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District.

The Purneftegaz Production Association was founded in 1986 to develop a group of oil and gas fields in the circumpolar zone of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District. The settlement of Gubkinsky was built as a base settlement mainly by Purneftegaz; it received the status of a town in 1996.  In 1995, the company became part of Rosneft.

The boundaries LLC RN-Purneftegaz activities stretch 185 km from east to west and 150 km from north to south. The company is the operator of oil, gas and gas condensate production, treatment and delivery at the licensed areas of Rosneft in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug and carries out economic activities at 13 license areas, which are associated with 12 oil and gas condensate fields, including

  1. 7 licenses for geological study and exploration and production of hydrocarbons;
  2. 4 licenses for exploration and production;
  3. 2 licenses for geological exploration.

The developed fields are characterized by a high level of oil and gas bearing capacity with alternations of oil, oil and gas, gas and gas condensate deposits.

Since its establishment, LLC RN-Purneftegaz has produced more than 260 million tons of oil and gas condensate and over 110 billion m3 of gas. Associated petroleum gas utilization since 2017 exceeds 99%.

In 2018, LLC RN-Purneftegaz transferred the assets of the Kharampurskoye group of fields and the Severo-Komsomolskoye field to joint ventures of Rosneft and foreign companies,LLC Kharampurneftegaz and LLC Sevkomneftegaz.
